At Pollo Alegre, the menu is a rich tapestry of Mexican flavors, boasting both traditional favorites and bold specialties that will excite your palate. For those craving the quintessential Mexican feast, the Two Enchiladas Al Gusto satisfy with their perfectly balanced layers of cheese, rich sauces, and tender fillings. The Combo One, featuring a tamale with black beans and rice, offers a comforting embrace of homestyle cooking. Guests who appreciate lighter, vegetable-forward options will find the Veggie Enchiladas a delightful choice, bursting with fresh, vibrant ingredients.
If you come looking for that signature chicken dish, look no further than their flagship Pollo À La Parrilla. This half-grilled chicken is expertly marinated and grilled to juicy perfection, complemented by grilled onions, rice, beans, fresh salad, and warm tortillas. For a sauce lover’s dream, the Pollo Mole surprises with a sweet and spicy mole sauce, infused with subtle hints of peanut butter, adding layers of complex flavor that linger long after your last bite.
The soups during lunch are equally inviting—the Tortilla Soup, rich with shredded chicken, avocado, crispy tortilla strips, and melted jack cheese, warms you from the inside out, while the Sopa De Pollo offers a homely broth, enriched with vegetables and tender chicken, perfect for a lighter but flavorsome meal.
For a touch of festive indulgence, their handcrafted beverages like the Rainbow Margarita and the aptly named Michelada—a beer cocktail with a tangy twist—are crowd-pleasers. Many diners rave about the drink menu, confirming it’s the perfect complement to the flavorful food. One guest even proclaimed the Rainbow Margarita and Mitchchilada beer as “extra special,” highlighting the care put into every sip.
Pollo Alegre also caters to those seeking American classics, with hearty offerings like Bacon Cheeseburger & Fries and the indulgent Rib Eye Steak, proving this grill is as versatile as it is authentic. But even with this variety, it’s the Mexican specialties—the carne asada, tamales, and chicken dishes—that consistently earn glowing praise from customers.
Customer reviews speak volumes about the genuine quality here. Phillip Moore admired the uniquely flavorful carne asada burrito, stating it stood out from other local spots, while Karen Johnson called it “the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten,” emphasizing the outstanding drinks and dishes like the carne asada with tamale and chile relleno. Another food lover, gcleff11, perfectly captured the magic of their grilled chicken, recalling how the tomatillo-based salsa served on the side elevated the dish to an unforgettable level.

Typically when I give 4 star reviews, it’s mainly due to any noticeable hesitation when my finger hovers over the 5 star. That being said, this place rocks. I ordered the carne asada burrito with fries. The flavor of the meat was pretty unique when compared to other local establishments. I truly enjoyed this burrito. The fries? They unfortunately led to me giving a 4 star review. Not necessarily flavorful, crispy, or unique. I can see children loving them, but myself, not so much. I will come back and try a different dish. The service was great, and the huge TV’s were pretty cool. The paintings made me feel like I was in the Jalisco countryside. Remarkable. Great job staff.
If you want authentic Mexican food you’ve found your place! Walking in the restaurant you’ll hear the staff singing and loads of laughter I loved it! Staff help each other out which is a + Chili verde and the combination fajita plate pictured. Bill for 2 with 2 beers and strawberry margarita $62.
Best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten! Drinks were extra special too. Loved the Rainbow Margarita and Mitchchilada beer!!! Carne Asada with tamale and chili relliano were really, really good! Husband loved his enchiladas. Friend said the burrito was the best he ever had! Really a worthy place to eat!!!
With Pollo front and center in their name, I had to go with the flagship chicken meal---Pollo a la Parilla. I wanted chicken on the bone, marinated in a way I cannot duplicate at home. It was spot on. Flavors were more than subtle, but when our host brought a small dish of a tomatillo-based salsa, gave me a knowing look, and said very matter-o'-factly, 'This is for your chicken,' who....the....hell was I to disagree? So rewarded. It took that Asado completely over the top, with tang and brightness. Funny thing was another tomatillo salsa the Wifey had with her street tacos was even better. This place is what you want your Mex experience to be, every time...
Among the absolute best Mexican food I've had here in WA or even in Cali! You have to try anything with their carne asada, delicious! I had the dry carne asada burrito (see photo). Too bad they're closing for personal reasons. Get in before they're gone!
I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this was the best meal I’ve EVER had at ANY Mexican restaurant in my ENTIRE LIFE. I’ve been to dozens of Mexican restaurants in my life. Many of them in the Wenatchee valley. I’ve tried dozens of dishes. The Apollo A La Padilla (half a grilled chicken) was SO FRICKIN DELICIOUS. The dark meat was so tender. Falling off the bone and juicy. Well marinated and seasoned to perfection. But the seasoning did not overwhelm the flavor of the chicken itself. It was perfect. The refried beans and the bean dip had a unique flavor to them that I’ve never experienced in any other Mexican restaurant. Bay leaf? Another herb? I’m unsure. But everyone at the table loved it. The rice was perfect. Cabbage salsa was slightly unique but very good and standard. Other dishes at the table: - Pollo A La Crema with black beans: delicious. More of a sour cream flavor and thicker. Black beans were incredible salty and borderline inedible - Carne Asada Burrito: fries were alright. It was a good burrito. Would probably try something different next time - Shredded Beef Taquitos: crispy and delicious. Topping were nice. Overall, my dish was the best. The grilled chicken. Try it. Please try it.
First time visiting Pollo Alegre Mexican Grill. We went for lunch while visiting family in Wenatchee. We were greeted immediately and promptly seated. The restaurant is not large, but has ample seating. It even has a small "bar" area. Our group mostly ordered from the lunch menu. We didn't have to wait long for our food to be served, after ordering. I couldn't wait to taste my food, then remembered I should have taken a photo. I had ordered the lunch, one combo meal, choosing the tamale with black beans and rice. The price was right and the serving size was generous. The food, very good. All of our food was good. All were of generous portions size. I really like the place. And the service provided was excellent. I would recommend a visit.
Excellent! Very nice, friendly people. A big tell in a Mexican restaurant is the chips and salsa. Salsa has a little kick, wasn't runny and weak. I ordered the taquitos ranchers (chicken), everything was excellent, beans, rice, all of it. My son had the steak fajitas, ate almost all of it, and there was a lot. If you're in Wenatchee and want Mexican food look no further.
